"The Fog Comes in on Little Cat Feet" - Carl Sandburgh

Finished after a very hot and sticky 3 or 4 days. This was a frustrating, but satisfying, piece to paint. It started out in one direction then ended in another as it took on a life of it’s own. Perhaps that is how art and writing are supposed to happen - they create themselves.
The setting is primarily a fig newton of my imagination with no particular place in mind. I referred to some images from the Central Oregon Coast for color and texture, and that was about it. The rest just happened.

This is one of the pieces that was in my April Featured Artist show here in Eugene.  It was a fun piece to paint.  I'm still getting caught up on my posting.  Betsy took care of all of this for me so I am now on a learning curve again.

The Shaman's Bear

I have been exploring my Sami heritage in art and have painted two images relating to the Sami and the animal world.  The first is titled "The Shaman's Bear".  It is an oil painting on cradled birch veneer and is painted in the Sami national colors with bear images from a Shaman's drum circling the bear.  The painting measures 8" by 8" and is framed in a floater frame.  The price is $135.00 plus shipping.

I am looking for a new credit card payment system, other than PayPal, and haven't settled on one yet.  So in the interim, personal checks or money orders will work.
